Your local library

I am still kicking around out here, believe it or not. I just haven’t had time to do much genealogy lately, between work and my other hobbies. And the battle to keep spam comments off of this blog is relentless.

Anyway, I wanted to take a moment to sing the praises of local libraries. In an era where communities are resorting to combining resources regionally to save money, its refreshing to find good, functioning, local libraries, and these are often, I have found, a treasure trove for the genealogist who has a connection to that community. Be sure not only to seek these out whenever you go on a research run, but given them all the support you can. They’re a dying breed.
